"Edited to Add"....

This started as a pregnancy blog when I fell pregnant in May 2009 after four years of finding a donor, doing all the counselling / paperwork / tests and trying.

And now, thanks to a 4WD which skidded onto our side of the road, killing our baby daughter at 34w and injuring me, my partner and two of my stepdaughters on 27 December 2009, it has turned into something else. We didn't want this something else, but apparently it is all we've got to go on with.

Bookbook!

This Bookbook owl in our local paper made my morning. Look at those eyes!

It feels like spring is coming, like something is lifting. I love Anne's phrase that she is "ready to bloom again". Me too, soon, I hope.

  1. what a magnificent creature hanen, i love owls, one came and sat on my car above where harveys car seat was for 2 hours after he died. now every time i see one i think its harvey coming to say hi. i think after coming out of a cold hard winter of grief the sun will help you bloom again ..... well that and some kindly donated swimmers, sending love xxx

  2. The buds are swelling on our apricot tree. Spring equinox is less than a month off, and some warm weather is due next week. It's the season of blossom and new life, my sweet. And the Boobook owl is looking out for you.

  4. Anne - that is such a beautiful story about the owl visiting you after Harvey died. They are such old souls, aren't they? And yes, the sun does help. We've got the swimmers sorted now, so cross fingers...

  6. N - good to hear things are lifting for you, even if your seasons are going in the opposite direction. Wishing a beautiful fall for you.
